What price clean, clear, compelling copy?

Each project is different. And that is why there is no typical price.

Instead, I charge according to the length and scope of the work (the quality of the text and the treatment required, etc.), not by the hour (unless you want me to). The main advantage of this is that I am able to give you an immediate, definite price that will NOT go up, as long as the nature of the project doesn't change. Nor will you receive any nasty surprises.
 
When I set a price, I look at all project parameters (eg, how many words will need to be proofread or edited, the type of editing required [proof only, or full edit], the deadlines, etc).

Please note:

• Fees for projects over £1,000 are billed 1/3 at the start of the project, 1/3 at a mutually agreed mid-point, and the final 1/3 on delivery.
• Projects costing £250-£1,000 are payable on a 50-50 basis (50% as a deposit with the balance invoiced and payable immediately on project completion).
• Those under £250 (and for all critiques) are billed 100% upfront.
